  • To users who downloaded some ADVENTURE modules between 4/4-4/27.
    Some users reported a problem that sometimes downloaded ADVENTURE module tar.gz file is automatically extracted to tar file in spite of file name suffix was still "tar.gz". You can check whether extract automatically or not by comparing file size described in download web page and property of saved file.
    To prevent this problem, server setting is fixed. If you already downloaded some ADVENTURE modules between 4/4-4/27, please download again.

    A new version of the parallel FE structural analysis module, ADVENTURE_Solid has been released.
    New features and revisions are as follows:
    • Fixed bug in large displacement and large-strain analysis based on updated Lagrange method.
    • Fixed many other bugs.
    • Added MPC (Mullti-Point Constraint) function.
    • Added the Rayleigh damping function.
    • Added input of distributed pressure and distributed surface traction boundary conditions.
    • Added input of initial condition (initial velocity) in the dynamic analysis.
    • Added function of switching multiple boundary conditions using a property "condition_id".
    • Added function to use results of the static analysis as a set of initial conditions of the dynamic analysis.

  • Quick fix patch for ADVENTURE_BCtool Ver.2.0 was released.
    * This patch fixes :
    • fixed syntax errors of makefem3, makebc, MPC_mshmrg.pl, and csv2adv.pl.
    • fixed the problem that makefem3 and makebc generate invalid integrated model file when cnd file does not contains surface traction and pressure.
    To apply this patch, replace to the files in patch tar.gz file and compile & install.

  • ADVENTURE_Magnetic was updated to Ver.1.8.0.

    We released a new version of the magnetic field analysis module ADVENTURE_Magnetic.
    ADVENTURE_Magnetic is a parallel magnetic field analysis module using a HDDM.
    In the new version, several iterative methods have been added as a solution to the interface problem of the HDDM.
    In particular, improvement of convergence can be expected for large-scale problems. Also, calculation time shall be shorten.

    <Outline of functions>
     - Parallel finite element method by hierarchical domain decomposition method is applied.
     - 3Dl nonlinear static magnetic field analysis, 3Dl time-harmonic eddy current analysis, and 3-dimensional unsteady eddy current analysis are available.
     - Parallel processing using MPI and OpenMP is available.
     - Single version which sequentially processes DDM is available.

    <Notes>
     - For build, C compiler, MPI environment and ADVENTURE_IO library are requires.
     - Input data be required domain decomposition by ADVENTURE_Metis

    Stationary and non stationary thermal convection problems may be analyzed by ADVENTURE_sFlow Ver.0.5beta. Stationary incompressible viscous flow analysis is still offered by Ver.0.11beta. The following programs - stationary incompressible viscous flow solver (Ver.0.11beta), stationary thermal convection solver (Ver.0.5beta) and non stationary thermal convection solver (Ver.0.5beta) - have the same program name, so users should install the programs in separate locations if more than one program are to be used.

  • ADVENTURE_DecisionMaker was added.
    The purpose of this module is to support the user in making decisions by permitting multi-dimensional visualization of optimized calculation results. The module has the following features:

    1. This module reads databases of multipurpose optimization analysis results, groups many design variables and analysis results into factors of three or fewer dimensions and provides multi-dimensional visualization capability while showing the relations among factors. This module may also be utilized to visualize results of other simulation data with user’s creativity.
    2. The displayed cases and factors can be reduced and switched using interactive operations.
    3. Although simplifying the display by grouping too many variables into three or fewer variables and dividing them into groups makes the data of a case to be shown as multiple points, these points can be connected with a line to indicate that they are the same data of a case.
    4. This module enables three dimensional rotation/ zooming/ pan.
    5. This module enables users to switch display items, and to identify whether results satisfy constraints. This visually supports users in making decisions about selecting optimal cases.
    6. Preferences for visualization, such as colors and types of lines and points, and fonts can be customized.

    ADVENTURE_CAD has a minor version update. Output surface patch connectivity used be in the reverse order compared with pch and pcm. Now it is compatible with pch/pcm. pcm format output is now possbile by appending a -pcm option to the runtime command line. By this addition of an option ADVENTURE_CAD is compatible with ADVENTURE_iAgent Ver. 0.42b.

    1.A surface triangle mesh can be generated from an ADVENTURE_CAD's geometry description file. You can create your own geometry without a commercial CAD.
    2.A load perpendicular to a face can be applied.
    3.In BCAgent, a hidden face can be selected by means of a right button mouse click.
    4.Minor bug fixes
    Boundary conditions in an analysis case were not loaded properly.
    Freezing occurred when surface mesh was being created from a large IGES file.
    5.An installer without the Jaava VM is also available. This is for those who already installed Java Runtime Environtmen(JRE).

  • ADVENTURE_sFlow was added.
    A new module which solves three dimensional stationary incompressible viscous flow problems is released.
    Until now, a three dimensional non-stationary incompressible viscous flow solver, ADVENTURE_Fluid is released. Now, ADVENTURE_sFlow Ver.0.11b module is released for stationary problems.
    Because both modules have the same data format, the stationary solution obtained by ADVENTURE_sFlow can be used as an initial value for the non-stationary problem solved by ADVENTURE_Fluid. Also, near steady results obtained by ADVENTURE_Fluid can be used as an initial value for the nonlinear iteration performed by ADVENTURE_sFlow.

    This module has the following features:
    1. Three dimensional stationary incompressible viscous flow problems can be analyzed.
    2. The Newton method is used for nonlinear analysis.
    3. A stabilized finite element method is used.
    4. Iterative methods as GPBiCG, BiCGSTAB and BiCGSTAB2 can be used.
    5. Supporting linear tetrahedral elements.
    6. Parallel processing performs load-balancing using Hierarchical Domain Decomposition Method.
    7. The parallel processing library MPI is used.
    8. Visualization for analysis results is performed by AdvVisual and MicroAVS.
